Practical nursing education enables the student to acquire principles and knowledge from the biological and behavioral sciences as well as the science of nursing. This knowledge forms the basis for utilizing the nursing process in the field of practical nursing. Concurrent integration of theory into clinical practice is an important aspect of practical nursing education.
Practical nursing education prepares the graduate to pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) for practical nursing. Practical nursing diploma program graduates prepared to seek entry-level positions as members of a health care team in hospitals, long-term care facilities, home health, and a variety of other health care areas.
A licensed practical nurse (LPN) is an essential member of the healthcare team. Working with and under the supervision of registered nurses and physicians, LPNs may be found assisting doctors during rounds, explaining procedures and treatments to patients, taking patient vital signs, giving injections, helping patients bathe and get dressed, changing bandages, maintaining an on-going assessment of patient health, and much more.
During the Practical Nursing program at Ross, we know that it's not only important, but necessary to get you out of the classroom and into real healthcare facilities, practicing your skills. That's why we include clinical experience that gets our students into a variety of clinics, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, and more to get real-world patient experience with other healthcare professionals.
After a student has successfully completed the Practical Nursing program at Ross, they must register for and pass the NCLEX-LPN in order to be a Licensed Practical Nurse and able to practice nursing in a healthcare facility.
I can honestly say that enrolling in the Medical Insurance Billing and Office Administration program at Ross Medical has changed my life for the better. I can take what I have learned and get a better paying job to support my family and grow professionally. The staff and students are like a second family to me. Not only have I learned about coding and office administration, I have formed life-long friendships.

My experience at Ross Medical has been very trying at times but has been the best experience I have had. The instructors here are so helpful and caring and always there when you need it, whether it's about your school work or your home life. I have not only gained experience and knowledge about being a great Medical Assistant, I have also gained lifelong friends who I look forward to continuing my journey with. Everyone here has become a part of my extended family and I am eternally grateful for my time and experience here.
